ABOVE IT ALL

Just outside the city of Florence is the small medieval town of Signa. B&B L’Orologio is located above it all, in the town’s historic center, Signa Castello, or “The Castle of Signa.” First used as a lookout post to protect Florence from its invading rivals in Pisa, the entire town is built on a hill overlooking the valley in which Florence rests. While the need to spot enemy knights on horseback has faded with history, this unique location still provides beautiful views of the surrounding Tuscan hills.

A 17TH-CENTURY VILLA

B&B L’Orologio is situated in a portion of a 17th-century Italian villa. Renovated and appointed in a boutique style, the result is a quaint residence that is charming, romantic, and full of personality. Every room has a window with a view. And yes, Tuscany really is as wonderful, if not more so, than the pictures and paintings you’ve seen.

TIMELESS CHARM

"B&B L’Orologio" means "The Clock B&B" in English. Our name is inspired by the clock tower of the St. Maria Church, prominently visible to all of Signa. The architectural structure of the church is believed to have been in place as early as the 700s, and is still present today. A testament to the timeless nature of the art, culture and beauty surrounding our special location.

Meet Your Host

Irene Rayner

Welcome to B&B L’Orologio! Here's a bit about me. After completing university in the UK, I came to Florence to visit for a few days. I fell in love with the city and decided to adopt it as my new home. That was more than 30 years ago.

The art, architecture, culture, food, and people of Florence are an endless source of inspiration for me as a fashion designer. Our location in Signa Castello also makes it possible to get away from the city's hustle and bustle with just a short 18 min. train ride.

I have the great pleasure of sharing my home with guests from all over the world. I speak English, Italian, French, Hungarian, and some Hebrew. Whatever language you speak, I’ll always do my best to make you feel at home.

Tutti sono benvenuti!

You could be exploring Florence, Pisa, and taking in the beautiful views of Tuscany right now! Don't wait any longer.
